Not all of the city workers enjoy the midnight shift, but this guy does. He’s young and shows up after dark. Coworkers complain about his beady eyes, but if you look closely, well, they ARE beady! He’s a shy loner and not a team player but at least he isn’t covered with tattoos or wear pants that sag. In fact he doesn’t wear any pants at all!
He hides in the shrubs (above) when not performing his nightly tasks. When he gets to work, he gets on top of his job (below left). He stays until his job of eating leftovers in the trash bins is done. He finds a lot of half-eaten sweet treats tossed away by children near the Imagination Station and then moves through the City Hall parking lot hoping for hamburger parts or maybe a pizza crust. By the end of his shift, he tells everyone what he really thinks of his job (below right).

Hey doug, we met the 23rd at the millpond, you caught me handling one of the ducklings…anyways, thought I’d let you know I really enjoy this site.
Hi “D,” thanks for paying a visit and letting me know about it. Hope you’ll stick around. Sorry if I came down on you too hard about picking up a duckling, but they have tough enough lives without human interference. That mom has lost one of her babies since you visited her. She started with 8. There were only seven last night. I’m hoping someone didn’t take it home since hand-raised ducklings that are reintroduced into wild flocks have a life expectancy of 1 year while wild ducks can live 8-12 years if raised by their moms.
Come back to the pond sometime and flag me down. Let me take you on a walk. I’ll introduce you to some of the critters, both feathered and furred.
