A passing shadow causes turbulence

As a mallard hen gets ready to land on the Brighton millpond, her shadow is ready to meet her halfway. Note how the water behind the shadow is stirred. It’s actually caused by her wing flaps, but it appears like the shadow has created the turbulence. I like that idea. Click the image to see it larger.

    Landing gear lowered, tail down- what an unusual shot with shadow! Maybe you can get a shot with shadow of mallard taking off. Conformation would be just the opposite.
