Skating on the sky

On this blog, I’ve often mentioned my fascination with thick, crystal clear black ice. This 4 minute video is a wonderful tribute to it. It’s from Quebec, I think. If we are lucky enough to have black ice form, it can be this magical. Special thanks to Designer/Photographer, Rich Evenhouse, Holland, Mi for bring this to my attention via Twitter @richiebravo

I’ve never seen anything like this! Pure freedom and thrill for them. Beautiful film. Have to watch again. Thank you!

The skater is holding onto a pole but I can’t figure out how it’s related to the camera. I thought the photographer was on the other end of it. Then the camera shifts its point of view to high above the skater. Maybe the photographer is in a vehicle, the back of a truck or something? At any rate, it’s delightful to watch.
