Bierstadt’s Ghost Visits the Millpond

February 15th, 2011         2 comments

I’m sure Albert Bierstadt (1830-1902) paid a fleeting visit to the Brighton millpond February 13th. The sky glowed like “Sunset Over the River” and “The Oregon Trail.” In fact, many of his other monumental canvases seem internally illuminated. But I’ve one-upped him with these two photos: He often painted with brilliant colors never seen in the natural world. The colors in my images are not enhanced, but I admit my digital camera does its share of modifying true colors behind my back depending upon the settings. Thanks for stopping by, Albert.
