Color, any color

Even though we’ve had a warm winter and can still see grass that retains some of its green, color is in short supply.  I find myself seeking anything that has color that isn’t bleached out by the sun. These ornamental grasses were planted at the entrance to a local suites hotel that’s beside a scrubby wetland. They tower above the knee high native vegetation and provide the only color amid the grays and dried browns of our third month of dormancy on a gray day.

    This is one of those photos that “hits” you. Beautiful contrast. The grasses look so brave and stalwart against winter background.
