Nature at the Brighton Millpond in Michigan

Caught flapping excess water from his wings at the end of his evening bath, this Mallard drake shows his handsome breeding season plumage. The speculum on his right wing shows iridescent blue because it’s in direct sun while his left wing isn’t catching the light.
