June 21: A minor rain storm moved across our region. As it passed at sunset, it waved good-bye with a rainbow from horizon to horizon against the darkening sky. The clouds that followed it formed a web of color with a backdrop of brilliant blue. I think every camera in the area was pointed upward that evening. Three of my friends sent me pictures they had taken that evening.
The hour before dark and the hour after dawn are prime time for photographers. The light is tinged with rose so everything looks richer. Reflections of this glorious sky met the water lily pads of the Brighton millpond. The shiny pads turned to pink circles taking on an other-worldly appearance that jarred the senses a bit (below right).
The aroma of the rain and perfect evening temperatures invited people to linger in the park until this other world faded to grays and a sky of stars.

Oh! Thank you, thank you! Reflections, sky, water are favorites! The lily pads have become my new screensaver. How lucky for you and visitors to have witnessed the special “other worldly” moment.
