The only reason I found this duck’s nest was because two males paid her a visit. When they got close, she jumped off her nest to inform them they were not welcome. She bit one of the drakes wing in a not-so-subtle effort to get him to leave. Having any action around a nest can draw predators … or photographers. While she was engaged in booting him out, I was able to sneak in for a quick shot of her 13 eggs (below left). They should hatch in about three weeks.
